Retired SSG Yury Lara began art design during her service in the U.S. Army where she was assigned several projects to assist with promoting company mascots during overseas and combat tours.

Some projects included illustrating customs drawings on green leader books.

After retiring from the military, Lara attended the Northwest College of Art and Design in Tacoma, WA.
